How We Curate This Directory

Where listings come from

There are two sources:

1. Seeded practices. Initially populated from publicly available information about Austin-area dental practices. Each seeded practice is reviewed against our quality criteria before being made visible on the directory.
2. Applied practices. Practices submit an application with their own information. Submissions are reviewed by our editorial team before being approved and published.

What we collect for each practice

• Verified location: address, neighborhood, and coordinates (sourced from public business listings)
• Patient ratings and review counts (from public review information)
• Services offered (extracted from the practice's public website)
• Dentist names, credentials, and specializations (extracted from the practice's public website)
• Insurance accepted and pricing for common procedures (self-reported on application where available)

How we generate review insights

We analyze each practice's full public review history using sentiment analysis to surface recurring patterns: services most frequently discussed, staff members consistently praised, the balance of positive and negative sentiment by topic, and representative direct quotes. Patterns appear on a practice page only when they meet our minimum mention threshold across multiple independent reviews.

All quoted testimony is reproduced verbatim from the reviewer's published comments and attributed by first name. We do not paraphrase, edit, or fabricate patient testimony.

What “featured” and “verified” mean

Featured practices have been individually reviewed by our editorial team and meet additional quality criteria: responsive contact channels, sustained positive reviews over multiple years, verified services that match what's advertised, and active maintenance of their public information. Featured listings appear higher in directory rankings.

Verified practices have been contacted directly to confirm their listing contact details, stated services, and participation in the directory.

What we don't do

• We don't write fake reviews or fabricate testimonials.
• We don't surface a practice's listing without verifying it exists at the listed address.
• We don't list or recommend practices outside the Austin metropolitan area.
• We don't promote paid placements without clear disclosure on the affected listing.

Patient access

Patients pay nothing to use the directory. There is no fee to browse listings, view practice profiles, or contact any practice listed.

How practices participate

Practices may participate in the directory through several arrangements: free editorial inclusion, paid listing enhancements, or featured placement. Any paid relationship is clearly disclosed on the affected listing.

Corrections and removal

If you're a practice owner and want to correct, update, or remove a listing, contact us through the apply form and we'll respond within seven days.
